Testimonials

We has the pleasure of working with Sha-En for one of our Quantum Perspectives events on “What can Science Tell Us About Happiness”.
Sha-En was very open to any ideas we had and was helpful in supporting the development of these ideas as well as the strategic thinking behind them and the various activities within our event.
All of our clients commented on how interesting Sha-En’s talk was, and how open she was after the event to take questions and share a drink and chat to our audience.
We look forward to working with her again!

Jane Nathans, Marketing and PR Manager, Quantum

Sha-En takes a personal interest in meeting the needs of the audience – key personnel, staff and students – and takes the extra effort to customise the training/talk. She takes pride in her work and the level of commitment is admirable as she constantly checks in with the school staff developer to ensure that the training/workshop meets the objectives. Though she is an experienced trainer, she looks for feedback to improve her craft and we are touched by her passion and humility. We will be engaging her to speak with parents more regularly when our PSG is more established under the new Exco team. She-En is not just a trainer but a treasured partner of the school.

Jane Chong Lai Peng, Vice-Principal, CCHY

Thank you for taking our feedback and requirements along the way and making various adjustment too! A strong PosEd partnership with Northbrooks

Sha En’s workshops are well -planned with suitably chosen activities and examples that keep staff meaningfully engaged. She makes the effort to make it relevant for staff and is specific in her examples, assuring teachers that this can be done. She is also very approachable and kind and very reassuring, ready to answer our queries and uncertainties. A few of my staff have come up to me and told me that they always look forward to PosEd trainings. 🙂

Alfiah Md Yusoff, Year Head P5-P6, Edgefield Primary

Sha-En takes the effort to know the needs of the school. She gives her sound inputs and practical tips to make the effort works. One thing for sure is that there is never a dull moment in her workshop. She is able to pace the session to cater to participants’ needs.

Abdul Mutalib Mohammed Amin, VP, Yumin Primary

I engaged Sha-En for a leadership session on Emotional Agility. Through her sharing, we learnt that there are no good or bad emotions. Sha-En taught us to look through a wider lens to understand the difficult feelings, make value-driven choices and move on. She was able to bring scenarios that represent a diverse range of characters and experiences to expand our perception. It was fun learning with her!

Peggy Ng, Executive Director HR & Transformation at Singapore Business Federation

The talk by Sha-En is very engaging and she uses interesting examples to elaborate her points effectively. The strategies and tips she shared are very insightful and useful and she has helped both parents and educators who attended the talk understand how they can increase their well-being and be role models for the children through simple activities in their daily lives. Besides learning how to enhance personal well-being, the participants have also learnt how to promote positive interactions between themselves and their children. Kudos to Sha-En for the wonderful session!

Sherine Yap, Year Head/Lower Primary, Westwood Primary

Nur Jannah Juri, Year Head/Middle Primary, Greenridge Primary

Sha-En was engaging in delivering her keynote and drew references to our school culture constantly to contextualise her sharing. Delivery was succinct and clear and teachers were able to effectively pick up the main points of her delivery. Will definitely get her to do more workshops for the school!

Elaine Chan, SSD

We worked with Sha-En to develop and deliver a nine-week course on understanding our individual sense of purpose, which we offered to all of our Asia Pacific employees. Sha-En not only developed a bespoke course that resonated with our team.

She delivered a weekly one-hour session over Teams that drew hundreds of employees each week. Her presentation style, the reassuring tone she took when sharing her own personal journey in discovering and living her purpose and the authentic, honest way she answered questions made for a compelling and often deeply emotional program.

Feedback from our team has been very positive, with much of the praise focused on Sha-En’s ability to understand the challenges employees face in the region, both with cultural and familial issues. Her ability to communicate to a large crowd over Teams and have them feel personally touched was impressive.

Hope Ewing, Head of Employee Communication and Organisational Culture, VISA

Since 2020 Sha-En generously donated her time and knowledge to the Shelovesdata community several times.
I had the honor and opportunity to observe closely her professional skills in the Courage Circle program.

She lead the participants through a series of workshops to help them:
– identify confidence blockers
– re-write their courage narratives
– reclaim control of their careers despite the uncertainties
– define new goals and take first steps on the new path

Sha-En skillfully created very open and positive environment. She lead all workshops with the confidence of highly experienced coach: she was not afraid to touch on vulnerability while creating a safe space for everyone to fully participate.

Sha-En’s working style is a great mix of the structured approach for defining and solving issues and a deep understanding and empathy for the human weaknesses. She embraces the unique differences her mentees bring to the table and turn them into advantages. What I love is her ability to flexibly adapt the content of the workshops based on the current needs, situation or vibe in the group.

I have learned a lot while working with Sha-En. I admire how she always evolve and perfect her methods and I truly respect her quest to help organizations and individuals on their journeys to become better versions of themselves.
It almost feel she does it effortlessly but you know she puts lots of hard work into her job.

I am looking forward to work with Sha-En again hopefully soon. It had a great impact on me and our community members.

Jana Marlé-Zizková, CEO & Co-founder, She Loves Data

We invited Sha-En to hold a (hybrid) workshop for us beginning of March with the focus on Increasing Positivity & Managing Negativity.

Prior to this four hours session everyone participated in the VIA character survey allowing to kick off the workshop with focusing on individuals’ strengths. This was a good base to work on managing negativity. Sha-En gave very practical advice and guided the team to move on with increasing positive emotions by building hope.

The workshop came timely after two years of Covid related restrictions and insolation. We continue working on feeling joy while returning to a more normal (work) life and increasing personal interactions with people again.

Thank you for your positive and valuable inputs, Sha-En.

Gregor Gams, Sales Director Asia Pacific, Jungbunzlauer Singapore Pte. Ltd.

Sha-En spoke at our annual Asia Pacific International Baccalaureate Global conference IBO.org. First of all she was incredibly professional in her communication with the team, and demonstrated incredible commitment to the speaking assignment despite she had just recovered from COVID. As a speaker she had a captivating audience on stage, whereby she manage to positive keep a 1000+ participants interested in what she had to say.

Sha-En talk was about Cultivating youth resilience in an uncertain world, and in her talk she demonstrated deep knowledge, cited examples from her real life experiences and answered questions with comfort and extreme capability.

I can confidently say that she left the attending educators inspired and aware about this important subject and so was I. I would no doubt seek Sha-Ens expertise in future conferences we conduct in different parts of the world.

Haif Bannayan – Global Director Business Devt, International Baccalaureate

Sha-En is the embodiment of positive psychology. I first met her when she was lecturing at The School of Positive Psychology, and am continually amazed by how she has evolves and applies her knowledge of Positive Psychology to a variety of audiences. She is versatile, engaging and thought provoking as a speaker, and is able to make theoretical concepts relatable and accessible for the everyday person. Shaen brings value and light into any room she enters, and I hope to continue working with her for years to come.

Jiezhen Wu, Director, The Hidden Good

It’s unanimous – the workshops Sha-En conducts are very engaging. I’ve seen many workshops (local & overseas). The content is simple, bite-sized, and most importantly can actually be applied in the classroom!

Muhammad Fadylla, Vice Principal, Shuqun Primary School

It was inspiring. I would like to go back to my class and to be more deliberate in identifying my students’ strengths and helping them to realize what their strengths are.

Secondary School Teachers on the Building an Inclusive Class Culture with Character Strengths workshop

Everyone in the workshop felt great! The benefits extend beyond the workshop into our daily life when we do the exercises regularly. Attending this workshop is a positive step everyone should take to make our life’s journey more wonderful.

Aden Gan, Curriculum Director, Pro-Teach Education Group

Cultivating a Positive Workplace Culture” was an enriching workshop about mindfulness and character’s strengths. Training focus, activities and strategies introduced were made relevant to our educators’ work situations. I believe that our staff were able to connect and had developed greater intra- and interpersonal skills that would help them better manage themselves as well as work with others.

Kelly Hor, Head of School, Odyssey Pre-school

I have recently taken part in one of Sha-En’ s talks on mental health and well-being . Sha-en is an engaging and honest speaker who has a vast experience in education, counselling and psychology. Her talks are hands on and thought provoking but also very pragmatic, equipping the audience with tools to enhance and maintain their mental well being and resilience, which are applicable in work and home environments. I highly recommend Sha-En as a coach and speaker

Victoria Folbigg, Gravista Leaders Network

Sha-En was the super engaging speaker of DABS’s very first Webinar, where she spoke about “Staying Positive during Crisis”. The webinar held during the Covid-19 crisis was very pertinent and the content presented was relevant and to the point delivered in a light-hearted, yet top-professional atmosphere. In 45 min she covered the essential scientific background, what happens to people during crisis, how to react and support as leaders as well as how to deal with some of the cultural specificities particular to Singaporeans, which was highly relevant for us all being foreigners. Feed-back from our members was overwhelmingly positive and some actually hired Sha-En to do the same talk in their organization.

Pernille Dahlgaard, Board Member, DABS (Danish Business Association of Singapore)

We brought in Sha-En as a speaker to our organisation, with the topic being “Staying Positive During Crisis”. Sha-En delivered a perfect presentation to us, balancing theory and practice to perfection. Also, our team of 80 people spanning across many regions around Asia, felt they got valuable tools to their personal tool box, on how we as leaders can get more in control with ourselves during crisis situations.

The session with Sha-En has helped many of us to reflect more about how our brain and mind are reacting during crisis, and which actions we can take to regain control, and get back to a stage where rational decisions can be made. As a speaker, she’s passionate, energised and very engaged with her audience.

I approached Sha-En some years back to conduct an Appreciative Inquiry session with a team I had just inherited. The feeling was that the team needed a new perspective and some refreshing, so that I could be given a chance to reset and lead them with no legacy misgivings. After the session, the team reported feeling encouraged. They appreciated the chance to articulate the vision they wanted for the team, and having some clear-headed discussion about how to get there. Honestly, I was doubtful the session would amount to more than a feel-good event, but the outcome far exceeded my expectation. Sha-En was extremely tactful in the way she raised difficult questions and feedback! If there is a chance to work with her again, I would definitely do so!

Jason Leow, Head of Corporate Affairs, Edelman (formerly GIC)

We were so fortunate to have Sha-En lead a session on ‘Cultivating Positivity and Resilience in Times of Change’, as the first presenter in our speaker series, ‘Well-being from Home’. Sha-En deftly guided our large group through the science and practice of mindfulness, and gave practical and inspiring advice on navigating uncertainty with a positive mindset. The engaging virtual session was so well received by attendees, who were vocal in their thanks for the talk, with the words ‘wonderful’, ‘amazing’ and ‘interesting’ frequently used. Attendees also remarked on how much more relaxed they felt post-session, myself included! Thank you for such a compelling and valuable session, Sha-En.

Carrol Lapsys, Go-To-Market Asia Pacific, Google

“Sha-en is a real delight to work with – she ran a 60-minute virtual zoom session for us on The Art of Savouring. Attendees showed up with a piece of fruit and were taken through the various stages of conscious eating. She’s a real natural at engaging with the audience and getting strangers to interact! She also exudes this wonderfully calming energy that always puts anyone interacting with her at ease. Looking forward to the next chance we can work together again!”

Krystal Tan, Director, Blue Sky Escapes

We really appreciate that she shares very practical advice and is easily applicable, and takes the time to explain clearly some psychological concepts to us. She has a calm and soothing demeanor and we thoroughly enjoy our sessions with her, Thank you Sha-En for always taking the time to listen to the audience and our questions, and for addressing them constructively! I will continue to engage Sha-En for more sessions to continue to make an impact!

“Sha-En was a first-rate resource and speaker for YPO Zen Pacific’s first learning series Webinar where she spoke about “Cultivating Mental Wellness Using Mindfulness.” The feedback from our members was overwhelmingly positive on the content, delivery, and interactive nature of the session. We have already decided to engage Sha-En on a subsequent “outing” to go deeper on some of these issues and have referred her to other YPO groups within the region. I would not hesitate to recommend Sha-En as an engaging thought partner who delivered a first-rate outcome for YPO Zen Pacific.”
